Newborn Posing - Chin in hands pose (variation Froggy Pose) - Pull back - Safety

Tuesday, 19 June 2018
I've posted previously about newborn safety here and I think it's time for me to do it again. I I had a parent asking me a few days ago if I had to do any training before becoming a newborn photographer. The answer is: "Yes! I would never ever book a newborn shoot without being trained how to pose such a tiny baby safely."
This particular pose is done using two images and putting them together in the post production.

I used to use mum's or dad's help to hold the baby, but now I do it myself holding baby with one hand and taking the photo with the other. I have full control and I'm confident that head is not going anywhere.

It's the same when it comes to siblings. This little girl on the photo below was only 2 years old. Even though she was really calm and good with instructions, we'd never let her hold her baby sister! As you can see there is dad sitting on the left and mum on the right actually holding baby's head.

As you can see, some newborn poses might look dangerous, but the reality is different.
